Community Profile and Location
The practice was established in 1988 in the village of Bramley, on the outskirts of Rotherham, by Dr Soni. It has developed steadily in this time and serves a base of over 19,000 NHS patients and 50 private patients. The practice’s strong reputation for quality family-orientated care has ensured that there is a consistent demand for patient places, and offers potential for further growth.
We are located in close proximity to the M18 and M1 motorways and are approximately 10 miles from the Post Graduate Centre by car. A train from Sheffield will bring you to Rotherham train station and a bus will then bring you up to Bramley or the journey can be easily completed solely by bus. The area has good local amenities including a supermarket, pubs offering good quality food alongside a good night life and a gymnasium in walking distance. Rotherham and Sheffield offer further opportunities for arts and sports. The practice organises team building days which are great fun (bowling & crazy golf) and the team regularly socialise together out of working hours.
The Professional Profile
We now have seven fully equipped surgeries, with six dental surgeons and one surgery dedicated for dental hygiene and therapy. The practice is computerised and all surgeries have digital radiography, helping us to improve the speed and quality of patient care.
Dr Steven Thompson is a honorary clinical fellow in oral surgery and has taught for two years at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. He has a particular interest in implantology having recently completed the 18 month one to one implant course at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. Dr Thompson is enthusiastic and is dedicated to teaching of the highest quality.
The two principals at the practice Dr. Anoop Soni and Dr. Mike Hindmarsh have a long-standing commitment to post-graduate learning and both are honorary, part-time lecturers at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, and have mentored a number of Vocational Trainees since 1997.
Bramley Dental Practice achieved the prestigious Silver Member status of the BDA Good Practice Scheme. Silver membership recognises the continued commitment to the good practice scheme, with the practice having over 7 years continuous membership.
The practice has a historical commitment to high quality NHS care, since its foundation. In addition the principals have developed a keen interest in implantology and refined restorative procedures.
Besides high quality dental surgery, one of the key strengths of our practice is the excellence of our support staff. The hygienist has over 18 years’ experience and is the President for the BSDHT and their Regional Group Co-Ordinator. The practice also employs a dental therapist who takes a special interest in preventative approaches. The practice is supported by our Practice Managers Mattia Thompson and Lisa Brown, and Lisa is also a registered dental nurse.
